Watching-
Firefly! Its about damn time, right?! Its been sitting in my Netflix queue forever, but my husband and I have finally made the time to start watching it. Its pretty freaking awesome.

Reading-
Lumberjanes! Well, not really. I have been desperately trying to secure a physical copy of issue number one that doesn't cost a million dollars and have had no luck. I did get number two and added it to my comic subscription list, but I am hesitant to read it without reading number one first. I have been keeping up with the other comics in my subscription though (Ms. Marvel, Sex Criminals, Rat Queens, She-Hulk and Deadly Class), so that makes me happy. I am also getting ready to reread The Fault in our Stars. All the pictures of that book blowing up my Instagram feed lately has made me want to read it again.

Listening-

Ed Sheeran- Sing

The Lonely Island ft Pharrell Williams- Hugs
I have been listening to this song since The Wack Album was released, and was excited to see that they made a video for it to play while Andy hosted SNL's season finale last week. The song in the video is a little different than the song on the CD, but its still good.

Happenings-
Currently, I am sick. It might just be really bad allergies, but either way, it blows. I am sneezing nonstop and my throat is so itchy and hurty! Bummer that it has to happen right before I have more dental work done (the past few weeks have involved a root canal and a deep cleaning, I just need to get a crown and a filling and I should be good to go). To me, there's nothing worse than having to have your mouth open for long periods of time when you're not feeling well, its like asking to vomit (or is that just me?). Its also my son's last week of school. I can't believe the school year is over already! I am relieved though. I have really been hating on his school this year. Its like they don't even care about educating the kids....but that's a rant for another day.

A couple weeks ago, my husband and I went to see Jay Mohr perform his stand-up with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend. She'd actually purchased the tickets as a birthday present for my husband and as an anniversary present for her boyfriend. Not going to lie, we all came in with expectations kinda low. The role I could most easily place him in was moderator for BlizzCon's costume contests. Ouch. But I guess he does a sports radio show, so there were a lot of dudes in the audience. There were also a lot of old people there, which was surprising. I think they were surprised too, because most of them were visibly offended by Jay's act (and really offended by his opener- Dean Delray). The show was dirty and vulgar and pretty awesome. When we went to see Aziz Ansari, it was good. He was funny, but it all felt really rehearsed and scheduled. Dean and Jay were both really out there, and actually responded to hecklers in the audience....it just a little more natural. Also, they took the time to come out to the front of the venue after the show for pictures and things, which was pretty cool.

Around that time, we found that the kittens had returned to our backyard (have I mentioned the kittens here? I know I have on Instagram). I was determined to keep them here this time, so I put more food and water out for the mommy kitty in hopes that she'd stay. I checked on the kittens constantly, as she had placed them in a shed this time (my mother-in-law left it full of junk...we rent from her..). Things seemed to be okay, but after two days we noticed that the sickest looking kitten had disappeared. We thought maybe it had wandered off, since they were pretty mobile by that point. Well....sadly that was not the case. A few days later the other kittens were making horrible cries that had drawn the attention of our neighbors. I went to check on them and saw that another kitten had gone missing, yet I could hear her. We moved a bunch of stuff around and found her stuck in a box. And upon removing her from the box, my husband found the sickest kitty behind the box...dead. I was devastated. The kitties were looking rough, one was dead, and I hadn't seen the mommy kitty since we found the kittens in the shed. So we called the cat rescue people and they finally agreed to take the remaining two kittens. They were both very ill with upper respiratory viruses and fleas, so the chance of them surviving I was told, was slim. I haven't had the nerve to call them and find out, but I do have a claim on the spotty one if she makes it :)
The orange one in the middle is the one that passed away. The white one with spots is the one I'm hoping we'll get when/if she recovers. Also in backyard news- this cat:
I feed this one, since it pretty much lives in my backyard now. I think he/she has some relation to the kittens. I've named it Oreo, just because I hate just calling it Kitty.

I also got caught up in the parking pass drama related to SDCC. I managed to get parking passes late that night, but boy was it a pain! Maybe next year they can use a different parking company? Or maybe that parking company can use servers that can handle that type of traffic? But on the good side of San Diego Comic-Con (besides the fact that I'm going), I did get tickets to see Nerdist Podcast Live! Super excited for that, I really love Chris Hardwick. Anyone know of anything else that's going on that Saturday and Sunday? Those are the only con-related days I'll be there.

So that's it for me right now. I hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day weekend, and while you're out there B-B-Qing, please remember to take a second to reflect on all that the Armed Forces has done and will continue to do for us as a nation.

Watching- Sons of Anarchy. I've been marathoning it on Netflix. I wasn't interested in the show originally, because the city that I live in (which has actually been mentioned on the show) has its own motorcycle gangs, I mean clubs, so I have some experience with how they work. But I finally decided to watch it and wow. Its pretty good. I know that Charlie Hunnam is supposed to be the hunk of the show, but Theo Rossi is more my speed.

Listening-

Echosmith- Cool Kids
They have like a toned down Paramore vibe that I love.

Reading- I have not been reading. I need to get on it. I have some books to finish and a lot to review.

Happenings- So in my life, I have come to accept that old saying when it rains, it pours. And so it has. In my last recently post, I wrote that we had adopted two kitties. Well, unfortunately, Miller (our boy kitty), got really sick. The people we adopted him from (they're a cat rescue organization) took him to the vet and we haven't heard from them since. It is for the best anyway, as he was really aggressive towards my daughter and our other kitty. But we were really hoping to make it work, and my daughter was devastated that we had to give her kitty back. However, Pika (our other kitty), has really perked up since Miller's departure. She's still very shy around the kids, but she loves me and my husband.
Pika.

It has just been busy in general too. It was my son's Spring Break, my husband's birthday, and some other family related things were going on. I also am having car troubles. I got my tires changed earlier last week in preparation for the trip to WonderCon. My tires were getting ready to split, they were that bad. The guy at the tire store tried to charge me too much and it turned into a thing and once that was figured out, they took forever to put them on. Skip forward two days later, and my car is breaking down in a CVS parking lot. And it was 90 degrees. And that's when I find out that my son has the stomach flu. So nuts. It took hours to get a tow truck, and I felt so bad for my son. That night was a particularly long one as well, since that's when his stomach flu took full effect. He was better by Saturday (WonderCon), but didn't want to go, and neither did my daughter. It was the first convention my husband and I had been to without children. I thought it would be great....except I was feeling the flu  my son had. His only lasted about a day, mine was four. I made it through WonderCon heavily medicated, and all of Easter sleeping. Monday was the worst of it for me, and that's when it hit my daughter. So I have been scrubbing my house like a maniac with bleach trying to get the germs out. I don't want a relapse of this. This flu is particularly nasty.

Hello April! Here is a quick glance at what's been going on so far this month.

Watched:
Captain America: The Winter Solider. Source.

Cheesy British dance movies (I've already watched the American ones a million times.)
Street Dance, Street Dance 2, etc....

Read: I've been reading a book, but I'm not sure if I can talk about it yet. It has to do with the last Recently I posted though :)

Listened:
Chase & Status ft Clare Maguire- Midnight Caller
Its from the Street Dance 2 soundtrack and so good.

Happenings: Busy, busy still. I spent last week volunteering at my son's school book fair. I ended up buying a ton of books for my kids, but half of them were free because the sale was a buy one, get one free thing. My daughter also started gymnastics and dance this month, so that's been fun. She really loves gymnastics, shes not so into dance. Of course, she did dance for a bit last year and it took her months to get into it, so it might be like that again. On the 5th we adopted two kitties. They are Pika and Miller, and they hate each other. I'm hoping they get over it soon, or one of them might have to go back :(  That night we also went to see Aziz Ansari perform, and he was amazing. Even the guy that opened for him (Joe Mande) was hilarious. Sometimes comedians will have opening acts that aren't very funny (maybe so they seem funnier?), so it was nice that he was actually funny. My only complaint about the show was that it was super short. It was rumored that he cut our show short because they had added a second show due to the first one selling out. If that's true, that sucks. We payed the same as the other people, so why was our show shorter? But that's just a rumor, maybe he just does really short sets. It was still hilarious though. Especially when he started reading texts from audience member's phones. He was trying to prove a point about how dating kinda sucks nowadays thanks to technology. The people in my town are so embarrassing when they're trying to get laid lol. You guys should check out his tour if it comes to a city near you.

March was so busy! So this is a recap of what my month was like.

Read:

I spent some time reading Divergent(review here) and Insurgent (review soon). I also read Camp Boyfriend by J.K. Rock, and I have something I think is exciting related to that book coming up soon.Other than that, its just been magazines and comic books :)

Watched: Spongebob Squarepants, Strawberry Shortcake and Pokemon. I let my kids pick most of the shows in March lol.

Listened To:
Bastille- Pompeii
That was for the kids, since that song was used in the Mr. Peabody and Sherman trailer, every time they heard it on the radio, we had to listen. And we listened a lot, since four of the five local radio stations I listen to played that song quite a bit lol.

I spent a lot of the last of March listening to Skylar Astin's Mr. Roboto/Counting Stars Glee performance on my IPod. Love him.

Happenings:  The children and I all celebrated our birthdays, mostly happily. The kids had great birthdays and great parties. My birthday was meh, and the night of my birthday dinner, my mother in law decided to tell me all kinds of horrible things about myself. I still haven't forgiven her, I won't. She has said a lot of evil stuff in the past, and I'm just tired of it. But anyway, besides all our birthdays and parties, I also volunteered to work a consignment sale. It wasn't all selfless. I was selling stuff at the sale, and the owner of the sale gives you a higher percentage back on your sales if you work the event. My sister and niece also came to visit for a week. They live out of state now, and my niece was on her Spring Break. It was really nice to see them, and my whole family even took a day trip to the beach as part of their visit, which was nice (its always nice to get out of town, and I haven't been able to do that lately. My husband has, for airsoft games and other airsoft related stuff, but I don't go with him to those things.). March was also filled with crappy allergies, a lot of doctor appointments, and the flu. Oh! And the IGGPPC birthday, that resulted in lots of Happy Mail! One day soon, I am seriously going to do a massive mail post. I have so much stuff to share with you guys :) I also completed one of my Renaissance Project goals, which was to have four blog giveaways. The Stickers! Giveaway made number five, so while I technically hit that milestone with the House GlaDOS Giveaway, I didn't realize it until giveaway #5 (because I am spacey like that). Busy, busy month indeed.

Recently/Currently

Today's post is a combination of recent and current things, and its not very exciting.

Happenings:

A trip to Urgent Care and a trip to the Emergency Room and still, nobody seems to know whats wrong with me. Its very scary. As I type this now, I have a huge headache, my hands are shaking out of control, my face is twitching, I have limited use of my hands and my back is still hurting me really bad. The Urgent Care doctor said I had a muscular skeletal issue and that was that. Gave me some meds that didn't help at all. I went to see my regular doctor and he thinks its stress related. Made an appointment for  me to see a neurologist for the end of this month and told me to suck it up until then. The ER doctor said I just hurt my back, and that I might still have some Zoloft in me, which is why I'm shaking and having headaches. I don't buy it. These are some of the worse headaches I've ever had in my life. And there was no reasoning for the weirdo rapid heartbeats or my face twitching. Have any of you ever had any of these problems before? Are there any remedies that can help me? I seriously feel like I'm dying.

On the sunny side of things, I have been planning the birthday parties of  my son and daughter, and trying to decide if I should ignore my impending 3-0 or celebrate it. With all the health issues I'm having, I think that if I make it to the 13th of this month, I should celebrate, but I have really taken to giving it up for the sake of my daughter. A week or two ago, I  bought our badges for Wondercon. Since its Easter weekend and the Easter Bunny doesn't feel like hauling her goods all the way to Anaheim, I will be there Saturday only. I also bought tickets to see Aziz Ansari. Hes going to be in my town, and I managed to get seats in the third row. What sold my husband on getting tickets so close was two words : heckling distance. Last time we went to see a comedian (Doug Stanhope), we were right next to the stage. And he heckled the crap out of me over this dumb piece of cheesecake that wasn't even mine (it was my husband's). So my husband is hoping for something similar from Aziz.

Its also been raining like crazy here the past few days, which is such a relief! While everyone else has been having the most epic of winters this year, California has not. In fact, our lack of winter has brought on a serious drought for the state. It has caused our water rates to rise, prices of bottled water to rise, finding bottled water to become more difficult and its had a huge impact on our agriculture production. And again, while most people don't care about that, you should. California (especially the area in which I live) produces most of the produce for the US. Lack of product means you won't get all the yummy foods you want, and it will drive your food prices higher. Sorry. Here's an article on Mother Jones that breaks it all down.

Reading: Still not much reading book-wise, but I have been reading Livy Loves to Run lately and I love it. I will be doing a post on my health very soon, and her blog/Instagram is a big part in my trying to get with it and change my health for the better.

Afraid- The Neighbourhood

Watching: Nothing new! Just my usual Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Atlanta, King of the Nerds and Pretty Little Liars.

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been absent, things have been nasty around here. The flu has been running rampant, and I have been nurse to everyone in my house. I hope to get back to regular blogging this week.

Happenings: Like I just mentioned, everyone around here has been sick. I also got the heart/blood test results back on Tuesday. Apparently I have a great heart (which is great, but I don't understand because its still acting all wonky), but I am anemic, pre diabetic, and depressed. I was prescribed Zoloft for the depression, prenatal vitamins for the anemia (and prenatals are nasty, I hated taking them when I was pregnant), and to lose weight to stop the diabetes from coming. Sounds all well and good, except I had a really bad reaction to the Zoloft. The side effects of Zoloft alone are nasty, but I accidentally took another medication I was prescribed (one for migraines) while taking it, and the side effects got worse. So I spent a grand total of three days on Zoloft before I went back to the doctor telling him I think I have serotonin syndrome because of that (I have most of the symptoms). He blew me off, they're getting worse, and I have an appointment with an urgent care center for later tonight. Serotonin syndrome is serious stuff, and can be fatal if left untreated. I think I would already be getting better if my doctor had listened to me on Friday. I am hoping this trip to urgent care can get me fixed, because all of this has been really scary.

Watched:
King of the Nerds! I am super disappointed that two of my picks have been sent home so far (Nicole last week, Katie this week). And I will let you in on a secret, I had Zachary listed on my original post as one of my picks for winner after the first episode, but took him off it before I published it because his actions in the second show were very off-putting to me. His actions since have still been very off-putting, but to be fair, I think he has a real shot at winning this season. He is a very strong competitor, he just lacks people skills. And did anyone else think that hug between Katie and Brian went on for a little long when she was saying goodbye? Is there some chemistry there? I think they'd be cute together....just throwing that out there.

Read: Not gonna lie, I haven't been reading much lately. I haven't even had time to read magazines, how sad is that?

And special for this Recently post:
Here are some places that Krystelle's Miss Tells has been mentioned lately-
*Geeky Sprinkles Kickstarter (which was fully funded, yay!)
*Gamerwife (the link about the harassment policies at conventions)
*A Bit Of Geek ( the winner of the Find It In Everything giveaway. Such kind words, thank you!)

Currently

I had a feeling I wouldn't keep up with these Currently/Recently posts, but I here I am trying another one :)

Reading: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I thought I'd be more into than I am, to be honest. Maybe its because I've been so distracted with other things that I haven't given it a fair shot. I might just start over (I'm not that far into it).

In the comic book front, I have been reading Rat Queens, Sex Criminals and Deadly Class. I am hoping to get my hands on Ms. Marvel, I've heard its wonderful.

Happenings:
I had to wear a heart monitor the other day for 24 hours. I couldn't shower with it, so that was gross. And the white things had a ton of adhesive on them, which I had happen to be sensititve to, so I was itchy and I now have welts where they were placed. Minimal complaints considering that I was wearing a freaking heart monior because my heart has been going super wacko lately. My doctor seems to be going towards stress/depression/anxiety as the cause. He didn't come right out and say it, but he sent home this huge questionnaire about it (not very discreet). But I also had to have a bunch of blood drawn, and I Googled some of what they were testing for. That wasn't smart, because it was for things like blood clots and toxins released from heart damage and lots of things relating to mortality rate. Made me a little anxious (okay, absolutely terrified). I still have some more tests to do, and I'll know everything by the end of the month. I figure that if something comes back really bad before then, they'll call me. So, no news is good news for now right? (Or that's what I'm telling myself at least).

But, on a super happy note, I got badges to San Diego Comic Con this morning :) Only for Saturday and Sunday, because that's what my husband and I had budgeted for. The four day preview night was still an option, because I got in right away, but it just wasn't in the cards for us financially. Maybe next year :) We're also seriously considering going to Phoenix Comic Con this year, so we will need money to make that trip as well.

Listening:

Dreamer by Ghost Town

Watching:
Pretty Little Liars. This season is so good. *Spoilers ahead* Now that we can see Ezra being A, isn't it even more creepy? He's still not working alone, but did he really make an alliance with Mona like it was hinted a few episodes ago, or is it someone else? And why is Ezra after Ali? Still so many questions. And I really can't wait for Aria to find out. She should've stayed with Jake.....

Recently

This is the first of my Currently/Recently posts. I'm not sure if I'll keep these up, but I've seen them done on so many other other blogs and I love them, so hopefully they can find their place here on KMT.

Happenings: The Wienermobile was in town recently. I succeeded in getting a Weenie Whistle, even though I had to embarrass myself greatly by singing in public to get it. And shout out to our local paper, who felt the need to print that in an article the next day :)

Listened To: I love this song. They hardly play it on the radio, and that's a shame. Guess I need to stop procrastinating and buy it from iTunes already.

Watched: The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Beverly Hills. Atlanta was the first Housewives show I watched, and its always been my favorite. Beverly Hills is getting really stale and I'm not sure I'll be watching it next season. Kim needs to go, Brandi needs to shut up, and Yolanda needs to get back to being nice.

I should have a review about it up soon. I want to watch the movie now.
